Iranian and British representatives met on the sidelines of the nuclear talks in Geneva, taking further steps to re-establish diplomatic relations.

The two countries closed their respective embassies and removed all their diplomats after the British Embassy was targeted with protests and attacked over Britain’s support of international sanctions against Iran.

The Mehr News Agency reports that the deputy foreign ministers of the two countries met in Geneva and agreed that the next step in rebuilding relations was to present their respective charges d'affaires.

In September, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with British Foreign Secretary William Hague to improve diplomatic relations between the two countries.
