Floods in Sistan-Baluchistan Province have caused the death of a five-year-old boy and left hundreds homeless.

Mehr reports that heavy rains caused rivers to rise in the southeastern province and destroy homes in several villages around Saravan and Iranshahr.

Flooded roads have cut off access to the affected areas.

The governor of Ghasreghand says the folds have caused 80 billion rials in damage, which includes damage to water and power plants in the region.

The head of the Sistan-Baluchistan Red Crescent reports flooding in six villages has caused levels of damage between 50 and 100 percent.
