EU foreign policy Chief Catherine Ashton has announced that she will travel to Iran in the coming weeks.
Ashton told The Wall Street Journal that she is planning to travel to Iran following the Vienna round of nuclear talks.
The next round of nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 is scheduled for February 18 in Vienna.
Ashton said on Sunday that the negotiations for a final deal will be very difficult and the parties are going to take whatever time is “necessary to get this to be the right agreement.”
The parties finally had a breakthrough last November, reaching an interim deal and disentangling years of deadlock negotiations, and they are aiming to reach a final deal within the next six months.
